Sweet Sticky Orange Chicken

1 lb boneless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp onion powder

1/4 tsp paprika

2 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)

For the Orange Sauce:

1 cup fresh orange juice (about 3-4 oranges)

Zest of 1 orange

1/3 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup honey

2 tbsp rice vinegar

1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (for thickening)

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Prepare the Chicken: In a bowl, mix together the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Toss the cut chicken pieces in the seasoned flour until evenly coated.

    Fry the Chicken: Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the floured chicken pieces in batches, cooking them until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per batch. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

      Make the Orange Sauce: In a separate saucepan, combine the fresh orange juice, orange zest, soy sauce, honey, and rice vinegar. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low.

        Thicken the Sauce: Gradually add the cornstarch mixed with water into the sauce, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes. Once thickened, remove from heat.

          Combine: Add the crispy chicken pieces into the saucepan with the orange sauce, tossing to coat thoroughly. Ensure every piece of chicken is well covered in the sweet sticky sauce.
