Ingredients

1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 cups broccoli florets

1 bell pepper (any color), sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium)

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon water

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Cooked white or brown rice, for serving

Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a medium bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, and 1 tablespoon of water. Mix well and let it marinate for about 15 minutes.

Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Set aside.

Cook the Broccoli: In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they are bright green and slightly tender. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Cook the Beef: In the same skillet, add the marinated beef in a single layer and let it sear for about 2 minutes without stirring. This will help to lock in the juices. Stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes or until the beef is cooked through.

Add the Veggies: Add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and sliced bell pepper to the beef in the skillet. Stir for about 1-2 minutes until the vegetables begin to soften.

Combine and Sauce: Return the broccoli to the skillet and pour the prepared sauce over the beef and vegetables. Stir well to ensure everything is evenly coated. Cook for another 1-2 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.

Serve: Remove from heat and serve the stir-fry over a bed of cooked rice. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
