1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter

2 cups granulated sugar

4 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup cocoa powder

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (or 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon + 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg + 1/4 teaspoon ginger)

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

    Make the Brownie Batter:

      - In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar until well combined.

        - Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

              - In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.

                - Add the pumpkin puree, sugar, egg, vanilla extract, and pumpkin pie spice. Mix until well blended and creamy.

                  Layer the Batter:
