Ingredients

For the Pumpkin Batter:

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

1 tsp ground cinnamon

½ tsp ground nutmeg

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 cup pumpkin puree (canned or homemade)

1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Chocolate Batter:

½ cup all-purpose flour

⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

½ tsp baking powder

¼ tsp baking soda

¼ tsp salt

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

½ cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

¼ cup milk

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a bundt or loaf pan.

Prepare the Pumpkin Batter: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the pumpkin puree and vanilla extract. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined. Set aside.

Prepare the Chocolate Batter: In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract and milk. Gradually mix in the dry cocoa mixture until just combined.

Marble the Batters: Scoop spoonfuls of the pumpkin batter and chocolate batter alternately into the prepared bundt or loaf pan. Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the two batters together to create a marbled effect. Avoid over-mixing; you want distinct swirls.

Bake: Place the cake in the preheated oven and bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool: Once baked, remove from the oven and let the cake cool in the pan for about 15 minutes. Then, carefully transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serve: Once the cake is cooled, slice it and serve it with a dusting of powdered sugar or a drizzle of chocolate glaze, if desired. Enjoy your delicious Pumpkin Chocolate Marble Cake!
