Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast (1 packet)

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup water

1/4 cup unsalted butter, plus more for greasing

2 large eggs

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Filling:

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup chopped pecans

1/4 cup maple syrup

Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons milk

1/4 cup maple syrup

Instructions

Prepare the Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, granulated sugar, instant yeast, and salt. In a saucepan, heat the milk, water, and 1/4 cup of butter until warm but not boiling. Add the liquid to the flour mixture. Mix until combined.

Add Eggs and Flour: Stir in the eggs and vanilla extract. Gradually add remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Let It Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Prepare the Filling: In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon. In another bowl, combine softened butter, chopped pecans, and maple syrup.

Shape the Rolls: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle (about 16x20 inches). Spread the butter-pecan-maple mixture evenly over the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture on top.

Roll and Cut: Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the dough. Cut into 12 equal slices. Place the slices in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.

Second Rise: Cover the dish with a kitchen towel and let the rolls rise again for about 30-40 minutes, or until puffed.

Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown.

Make the Glaze: While the rolls are baking, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and maple syrup in a bowl until smooth.

Glaze the Rolls: Once the rolls are out of the oven, let them cool slightly before drizzling the maple glaze over the top.

Serve: Enjoy your warm Maple Pecan Cinnamon Rolls right away or store them in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
