Ingredients

4 large turkey drumsticks

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped

2 tbsp fresh thyme, finely chopped

1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp lemon zest

1 tsp smoked paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 cup chicken broth

1 lemon, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, fresh rosemary, fresh thyme, fresh parsley, olive oil, lemon zest, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until you create a fragrant herb paste.

Marinate the Drumsticks: Pat the turkey drumsticks dry with paper towels. Rub the garlic herb mixture generously all over the drumsticks, ensuring they are evenly coated. Allow them to marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature, or for best results, refrigerate for 2-4 hours.

Sear the Drumsticks: In a large oven-safe skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated turkey drumsticks and sear them for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown.

Add Broth: Once seared, pour the chicken broth into the skillet around the drumsticks. This will help keep the drumsticks moist during roasting.

Roast the Drumsticks: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast for 45-60 minutes, basting every 15 minutes with the pan juices. The drumsticks are done when they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the skin is beautifully crispy.

Serve: Remove the drumsticks from the oven and let them rest for about 10 minutes. Garnish with lemon slices and additional fresh herbs if desired.

Enjoy: Serve the garlic herb roasted turkey drumsticks with your choice of sides, such as mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables, and enjoy this succulent dish!
