Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine or spaghetti

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 cups fresh spinach, roughly chopped

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup chicken broth (or vegetable broth)

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 tablespoon olive oil

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to preference)

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta:

    - Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine (or spaghetti) and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

      Prepare the Shrimp:

        - In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the shrimp to the skillet, season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Sauté until the shrimp turn pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

          Make the Garlic Sauce:

            - In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

              Create the Creamy Base:

                - Pour in the chicken broth and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Then add the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Let the sauce simmer for another 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly.

                  Combine Ingredients:

                    - Lower the heat and add the grated Parmesan cheese to the sauce, stirring until melted and creamy. If the sauce is too thick, gradually add some reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.

                      Add Spinach and Shrimp:

                        - Stir in the chopped spinach until it wilts. Add the cooked shrimp back into the skillet and toss everything together to combine well. Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and black pepper if desired.

                          Toss with Pasta:

                            - Add the drained pasta to the skillet and gently toss to coat the pasta in the creamy sauce. Ensure everything is evenly combined.

                              Serve and Garnish:

                                - Serve the creamy garlic shrimp and spinach pasta immediately, garnished with fresh parsley and lemon wedges for a zesty add-on.
